Dark Chocolate Protein Waffles With Fresh Fruit

I’m particularly excited about today’s recipe as it includes one of my favorite childhood foods: waffles. As some of you may know, part of my family is originally from Belgium and I spent many years living in Brussels. Next to chocolate, beer and fries, waffles are one of Belgium’s top foods. Traditionally, they include eggs and milk, but it’s very easy to veganize them! I’ve teamed up with Rebbl and instead of milk, used their Dark Chocolate Protein elixir. It’s delicious as is, but mixed into … [Read more...] about Dark Chocolate Protein Waffles With Fresh Fruit

Quick and Easy Vegan Breakfast Idea

If you're looking to go vegan or want to start eating healthier, switching to vegan breakfasts is a great way to start. Oatmeal is one of my favorite go-to breakfasts because it's so easy to make, very affordable and delicious. What I love most about it is that you can combine it with any toppings you desire so that it never gets boring. Here's how to make a delicious oatmeal bowl in just a few easy steps:   Cook the oats. Depending on how hungry you are, cook about 1/2 to 3/4 cup … [Read more...] about Quick and Easy Vegan Breakfast Idea

Pink Dragonfruit Smoothie

Pink Dragonfruit Smoothie

A few years ago, I decided that it was time for me to start eating more fruit. I had recently joined Instagram and kept seeing pictures of people eating an abundance of delicious fruit every single day. They looked healthy, they looked peaceful, they looked happy. And I was ready to join them. My only problem? I absolutely hated fruit. I was already vegan, but since the decision to cut out all animal products was a purely ethical one, I saw no reason to stray away from vegan pizza and donuts (I … [Read more...] about Pink Dragonfruit Smoothie

Superfood Berry Coffee Cake Parfaits

Superfood Berry Coffee Cake Parfaits

Two of my absolute favorite non-vegan desserts used to be tiramisu and berry ice cream, so for today’s superfood berry coffee cake parfait recipe, I thought I’d use these two as inspiration. For this recipe, I partnered with REBBL, one of my favorite companies to work with. Not only do they support a non-profit with every single sale, they were actually founded by one, an organization called Not For Sale. Not For Sale works to eradicate human trafficking and help to rehabilitate those who’ve … [Read more...] about Superfood Berry Coffee Cake Parfaits

In The Kitchen With… Rens Kroes

I first met Rens Kroes in New York City a few years ago. I had known of her for a while, but had never met her in person. She is one of those people who seem almost inapproachable via the social media lens, simply because of how successful and well-known she is. When I finally met her, however, the first thing that struck me was how down to earth and truly relatable she is. Rens is a bestselling author, blogger and recipe developer from the Netherlands who just published her fourth book in under … [Read more...] about In The Kitchen With… Rens Kroes

Bringing the Vegan Revolution to Harlem

Three blocks north of Central Park, on Saint Nicholas Avenue and West 113th street, the Harlem restaurant Seasoned Vegan has become one of New York City’s most valuable vegan gems. What started as an occasional pop-up sale of homemade food, became Harlem’s first ever full-service vegan restaurant in 2014. The local community has embraced Brenda and Aaron Beener, the mother and son duo behind Seasoned Vegan. If you’re planning a trip to New York City and want to explore the vegan scene, Seasoned … [Read more...] about Bringing the Vegan Revolution to Harlem
